Dealing with Food Issues of Your Seminar at Hotels
If you choose to do your event at a hotel, you will inevitably have some ISSUES with the food and drinks. No matter how “good” the facility, this will happen. So EXPECT it!
Here are some things you need to know:
1. Check the bill CAREFULLY at the end of each day. The facility may not want to give you a partial bill at the end of each day. DEMAND it.
Check it VERY carefully and make ANY changes with them at that time. Do not wait. If you do, you LOSE!
2. Review your contract VERY carefully BEFORE you sign it and show up to do your event. Whatever you sign beforehand is what they will hold you to when you get there to do the event itself.
3. Make sure that if you order either meals or drinks that you COUNT to make sure that you are given what you were promised. It’s amazing how often this is INaccurate. It’s also amazing that the mistake is ALWAYS in THEIR favor!!
4. TIP the staff that is working with you when you FIRST get there. Tipping in advance guarantees YOU will get priority treatment. Have fives and ones available in BULK before you start your event. Spreading $100 around to the various key staff members has always made it so that MY problems got fixed FIRST if they happened at all.
5. Treat the staff like GOLD. They will give you much more than you expected in return.
6. Take my advice and you’ll be able to get away with almost ANYTHING you want at your events. It’s amazing how “greasing the palms” will help you do your event!
