Seminar Marketing Consulting Work
I got a call from a guy who wanted to have me help him with his upcoming seminar that he was doing. I went to his website to see what he was doing. It seemed legit, so I called him back. As a consultant in this field, I get paid for my knowledge, expertise and advice.
Over the years, I’ve gotten fairly hip to those folks who try and STEAL my inventory. My knowledge. My brain power. My expertise.
Many of these types of people will do it with YOU as well. Do NOT let it happen. You deserve to be paid for your knowledge that you’ve accumulated and now sell for a living.
Let me give you my system on how I do this. I think you could copy me and have great results. I encourage you to do so.
First, I never give out any information during an initial phone call before money has been paid to me. I may ask a lot of questions and try and find out more about the person and the seminar, but I’m not spending ANY time dispensing advice at this point. That happens AFTER I/YOU get paid!
Second, I resist the temptation to stay on the phone TOO long. Be polite. Hear the facts in brief and then CLOSE the conversation. What does CLOSE mean in this context?
It means that when you get off the phone you say something like I did: “I get a lot of calls from people like you who are interested in having me promote my events. I can never be sure if someone is just interested in picking my brain or REALLY working with me. Here is how I get around this. I have a site set up, it’s at www.ConsultWithFred.com. If you are truly serious about us working together, go to that site and follow the instructions.
YOU should set up a similar site to the one above. Go there NOW and read it. Feel free to copy it. It will give you a lot of help to make sure that you get paid for that knowledge you have and don’t give it away!
