Webinars are the latest craze in the marketing of seminars. They are often used to get people to attend events by giving potential attendees a sneak peak on what the seminar will be like. Recently, I’ve been using a company called GoToWebinar to do these events.

I think they are much better than doing teleseminars because people can see the screen and you can illustrate what you’re talking about. People can not only hear, then can SEE what you’re doing as you speak.

So, how do you get people to show up for your webinars and start telling all of their friends? Here are a few steps to make that happen:

1. Deliver an amazing webinar. If you do a bang up job, people will spread the word and tell their friends. They will also be highly likely to come back and attend your next event.

2. Don’t overcomplicate things. Don’t try and make people think you’re super smart by talking over everyone’s head and trying to snow them with big words and terms. Keep it simple. Give good content, but make it simple and easy to understand.

3. Use Social Media to Promote. Use both your Facebook and Twitter account to let people know about your webinar. Promote it a couple times. Once a week before and then again 2 days before.

4. Use Your In-house email list to promote. Let people know about your webinar via your email list. Like with your social media, let them know twice. Once about a week before and then again 48 hours before the start of the event.

Do these four things and your chances for success with your webinar will increase.
