Using the Seminar “MODULAR SYSTEM”
Last time I told you about how to create an outline for your seminar or event. If you followed my advice you now have 20 piles with 10 index cards under each pile.
They are all in the right order. Both within the piles and the order of the piles themselves.
Now, let’s get down to the individual index cards.
Each one of your index cards represents a MODULE of information. These modules may go anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 or 40 minute each. If they are a whole lot longer than that, I suggest you cut them down and make TWO or more out of them.
I have found ideal module length to be somewhere between 10 and 20 minutes.
Each module should have a main title with 3, 4 or 5 subtopics. You should then decide HOW you are going to properly ILLUSTRATE or ILLUMINATE the points you are trying to make.
I suggest that you use the following, to help you:
- Stories
- Quotes
- Statistics
- Audio Clips
- Video Clips
- Props of some sort
There are more possibilities, but those will get you started. Make sure that each point you make has some way of having it REMEMBERED by your audience.
